How in the world would that prove anything? The men who wrote the texts in the first place could be lying.

It's not proof of anything other than that is what the person writing them believed in. There is no proof that god exists. The writings may prove that there were people such as Moses, Jesus, Muhammed etc. Every religion has it's own holy scriptures and places. It's all just a matter of what story you want to believe.

The Bible says "So God created man in His own image," Gen.1:27. Not the other way around. God was here long before man was, The holy word of God is not to be changed in any form. If you do mess with the words in the bible you will regret it. Just wait untill Christ returns to reign for a thousand years. Revelation 19&20.

----------------------------------------... And God reported, "enable us make guy in our image, after our likeness, and they shall rule over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heaven and over the animals and over all the earth and over all the creeping issues that creep upon the earth." *** The above section is wise, yet some thing else replaced into very confusing. i do not remember (apart from the above) any of it being written interior the former or New testomony. As for the above passage, many Christians use this as data of the trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). In different words, "enable us" and "our" assumes a plurality. The trinity no matter if you've faith it or not continues to be a very mysterious characteristic of God that few dare assert he/she completely is favourite with it. truth isn't depending on what we understand or come across. i trust the trinity is authentic, yet my conception on my own (or the collective beliefs of many) isn't what makes it authentic.

I would disagree. The writers of the Scriptures use anthropomorphisms to explain God. These include things that we as humans can understand and relate to such as having wings, hands, arms, flowing robes but also emotions such as vengence, jealousy, love and hate. This is because the characteristics of God are far and above what we as humans can truely comprehend, as illustrated in the attached link.

No, far from proof. Man is fallible. Man created all the texts, be it the bible, torah or koran. Have you ever read those chinese translated instructions for assembling furniture? Just goes to show, that even in copying or having something dictated, even with the best of intents, there can be foul ups.
That said, how can they be proof at all? Of anything?

You call them petty because you assume their motivation to be human in nature.
Human jealousy and vengeance are simply shades of the Divine Jealousy and Divine Vengeance that they are modelled upon, and our versions are corrupted by our own imperfections.
To claim that our flaws are proof of anything but our own sinful nature requires a rather large leap of Faith.

Yeah it's like an all-knowing creator that wants to judge/blame his own creation for it's flaws. Give me those dice, i'm sure i could do a better job if i'm all-powerful, all-knowing and all-present.

there are no proofs, there is only evidence for and evidence to the contrary of any given idea.
It's up to you whether you want listen to the facts presented by a somewhat objective reality or listen to the words written in a book by a bunch of dead guys with motives we have no way of discerning.
You're welcome.
