How about "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe? The raven only gets the line, "Nevermore." But if the performance were onstage, and if the character of the raven could be somehow evoked (character enters? character cannot sit upon the bust of Pallas above chamber door...?) and if the character could assume attitudes toward the other...
