I feed my dog Nutro Lamb and Rice Puppy Large Breed. They have smaller breed food. He enjoys it. Feed him 2/4 or 1/2 of a cup 3 times a day. If you leave him home, leave toys in his kennel and keep one light on that he can see. Leave your tv on if your want to or play the radio. It gives the apperence your still home so he wont freak out!

Puppies should be fed a good puppy food like Nutro, Eukanuba, etc.at least 3 times a day. It's too bad you will be gone during a big part of the day, pets need the company of people, although sometimes that can't be helped. Be sure you give it lots of attention for long periods of time when you are home.

I have a small dog puppy (Bichonpoo). She is 4 months old now. My vet gave me Pro Plan Puppy Food for her and said to feed her twice a day. If you work a typical 8 hour day that is a long time to leave a pup this young. Can you come home at lunch time to give him a break? Walk? Play? Can someone do it for you? Good Luck.

Get a good quality puppy food. Nutro Natural choice puppy is goood. Purina Pro Plan Puppy Select is good. Until he is 6 mo old, he should eat 3 times a day, after that twice a day. He will be fine at home alone while you work. buy hijm some good chew toys so he doesn;t destroy your house.

i think wysong is the best food you can buy. you sould only have to put food in his bowl once a day (about a cup full for a shitzu).
As for leaving him home alone it depends on how long you are gone. if just a few hours (4-6) he should be fine as long as he is trained not to chew or potty. My opinion is that if your dog is trained properly there is no reason why you should lock it up in a cage. if there is no way for it to get outside you can buy those potty pads but its kinda gross. if he chews stuff when your gone you can just put lemon juice or vanilla on all of his toys and and tell him NO when he chews stuff he's not suppose to. then it will be easier for him to tell the difference from his stuff and yours.

Well i have a few dogs myself, so i say you could feed him 4 times a day. Morning, afternoon, mid-afternoon, and evenings. only small amounts. As to what to feed him, puppy chow is very good for him, especialy since you don't want to give him the runs. By the way, i don't think you should leave him alone for long periods of time.

Although IDK much about dogs.....I think you should feed them about twice a day (You should be able to feel the ribs without seeing them) and dogs are fine alone...but you may want to consider putting him in a carrier. Just leave food and water in there ( + a chew toy) and he will be good to go. If he doesn't like the carrier try putting alot of really cool things in there then locking him OUT. He will want in there so bad training will be a sinch. That is all I have to say so good luck to you!!!
