I have really curly hair too, and straigteners are a HUGE hassle. I use a chi iron. What happens with straighteners is that when the hair grows back out, the roots are still curly, so it never lays right. And, they are very hard on the hair, especially if you use any bleach products. The iron is the way to go.

Any Ceramic Iron will work good but a particular brand that I prefer is CHI it does miracles but the price range is like $80-125 also try Gold N Hot it is an African American flat iron

i have the thickest curluest frizziest.. {you get the point} hair ! but i always straighten it every day using " hot tools" located at most beauty stores and at all Ultra's. it really works great and they have different brands to match your hair type. plus... it is really cheap. i got it for 29.99 on sale and it workes amazing. ive had it for a year and use it almost every day and it is like i have new hair.

good luck!
