ok i witnessed an accident. we were all stopped for a red light and i did not want to block the side street so i stopped before the street so the other car could make a left turn. another suv that was going way to fast. T-boned the car and then it rolled away a few feet. the driver was thrashed all over the place and then you couldnot see her. i ran out of my truck and went to her aid to ensure she was ok. she was passed out. i called for her no response. finally she awake and was frantic and i tried to calm her down. she was histerical. she appeared to be 18-19 yrs old.

my question. how come no one else came to her aid. all i could think of is that that could have been my wife and kids. do people not help other people anymore?

second, did make a mistake to leave an open spot for her to make the turn, or should i have blocked the road and put up with finger gestures?

People worry about too much now days to the point they don't react physically only mentally in such case many probably sat there saying OMG I cant believe that happened, I wonder if their OK. By the time they got that out, you were at the car checking out the situation and therefore they figure no need to be in the way.

second, no you did the right thing keeping the intersection open, she is at fault for pulling out without looking. If anyone says different let them or family member in an ambulance that has to stop because someone blocked the intersection.

I think nowadays everyone is in too much of a hurry, we all have that all for one and one for all mentality. Which reminds me, I was at my local Costco not long ago at the exit waiting to get checked out by the magic marker person when I spot a family of five ahead of me the mother was up ahead holding a little girl and 1 other child walking with her, now the dad was holding another child while a young boy looked about 7 was pushing their cart. If you have never been to a Costco these stores are usually always crowded, so the dad starts yelling to the 7 year old pushing their cart to run over the people in his way because it is a doggy dog world. This is the example this grown father figure is setting for his beautiful family. I have to admit I was disgusted with his actions. This may or may not answer your question but it's all about the way you were brought up as a child, In my humble opinion.

No. There used to be a time while Gods have been essentially the most logical reply to the questions we had approximately nature. We are curious, 'shrewd,' animals able of finding out and know-how so a lot more than others, however in an effort to do this we have got to make assumptions. We used to feel that the sector used to be flat. We now recognize its round. We use to feel subject used to be steady and infinitely divisible. We now recognize of basic debris. We used to feel there have been most effective 4 factors. Now we all know there are lots of, many extra, and none of them are what we notion they have been. Just since our ancient conclusions have been flawed does not imply they have been silly or dull on the time. They made experience. God(s) have been a imperative facet of our finding out curve and evolutionary direction. But as we gain knowledge of extra, that experience starts to expire and finally the suggestion expires its use. Then we have got to exchange them with what the proof indicates.

What you did was common practice in busy city streets, letting someone cut through to turn.

Unfortunately, the person turning AND the driver who hit her lack experience and did not expect what happened.

I have never seen a situation where only ONE person came to aid an injured driver. Maybe they were too busy Christmas shopping. Very sad indeed.

I think you are only one of a small number that would help. I think that it has nothing to do with being sued, it is that humans these days do not care about anyone other than themselves. It is disgusting really but it is the way we are and it is only going to get worse. I just hope that if I need someone like you will be around to help.

Because we hear too many stories about good samritans being sued. I would have dialed 9-1-1 on the cell, and left it at that.

And yes, I do think lots of accidents are caused by folks being overly courteous.

I saw an accident on a semi rural highway and one on the DE turnpike and in both cases plenty of people stopped.

You did the right thing in every case. The jackass that wouldn't wait for the car to turn is at fault.

People are so terrified of frivolous lawsuits that they turn a blind eye,
