The bump is like a baby sized olive and it has a greenish tan look to it, she just came in from out side and we heard her meowing loudly when she came in. i discovered this when i was petting her and felt a large bump. I tried to pull it out but its too hard and i don't want to hurt her...does anyone know what this could be?

It sounds like a wood tick that is engorged with blood. My friends pull the woodticks on their dogs off and put the woodtick in bleach to kill it.

If it's green that could be a sign of infection. You need to take the cat to the vet immediately to be checked. They can tell you exactly what the bump is and why its there all of a sudden. You dont want to wait in case of cancer or something fast spreading. Good luck.

And if it is a tick like someone else above thinks, then have the vet remove it. It's a tricky process and can be painful. You also risk the chance of pulling the body of the tick off and leaving the head in. Don't risk it. Take the cat to a vet

You really care about your cats and are a great caretaker for them. It shows by your question. Without knowing where you live and if your cats are indoor cats or go outside, it could be flea bites or they could just be having some aggressive play time. Keep an eye on them to make sure they don't start to get infected. You can dab a little antibiotic cream on them if you are concerned that they don't look like they are healing well. If they don't heal or they continue to get these little bumps with scabs and you have determined that it is not from them playing, getting scratched from objects outside, them please take them to a vet so they can be checked out for other parasites. I wish you the best.

If it's a tick, use alcohol or touch the end of a recently-lit match to it. It will make the tick let go, and then you can kill it. Don't just pull it - not only does that hurt your kitty a lot, but you can leave part of the tick behind.

Take her to the vet. Are you sure it's not one of those big cow ticks? do not try to remove them from the cat, because if you do not take it out the right way the tick it can leave the head inside her skin. A vet can do this better than you can but it may be a big cow tick.

It really sounds like a tick.
Do not press it!!!
Take it out gently but firmly by gripping under it, BUT TAKE IT OUT! Grip and pull unrelentingly, it won’t hurt your cat even if she is going to protest: take it out!
If this process takes too long, the tick has time to infest your cat.
So either take it out yourself or go to see a vet.
It isn’t anything to worry about, really, but you should destroy the tick afterwards, dispose of it carefully, burn it, or else there will be thousands of eggs.

If it is not attached to the skin try to carefully cut it out of the fur. If it seems to be stuck to the skin, I would take her to the vet and be sure it is not something serious. It could possibly be chewing gum.

Sounds like a tick. Take her to the vet. Ticks are bad if they are not removed and can kill the cat. Please take her to the vet.
