i mean in which direction do the candles get lit..right to left....or left to right...

You add candles from right to left and light them from left to right so that the newest candle is always lit first.

Use the servant candle, the shamash, to light the other candles. You place them on the right & work your way left. You also light them from the right to the left.

I was under the impression is was one side, then the other. Not sure which comes first.
