I don't know about Texas, but if a 23 year old is dating a 16 year old, there is a chance that the 23 year old can end up in jail. Wait until she's 18.

18 in most states. Ever heard the old saying "jail bait" ? That's what a sixteen year old is. Stay away, unless you want to labeled a sexual predator. If your relationship is completely wholesome and you treat her like a child (which she still is) you might be ok. But just an accusation could plunge your life into a living hell with the law. In Texas they'll string you up so fast for statutory rape you won't even know what hit you. Go out with someone your own age and leave the kids alone! If he was dating my 16 year old daughter he’d wish the police got to him first.

Theres no legal age in Texas to date a Girl, but there is an age if u want to marry the girl wich is 18 years old as the legal age. Under that it would require parents consentment and agreed in front of a judge

It doesn't matter what the law is, you shouldn't be dating a 16 year old. If you have any sense of humanity or respect you should let the child be a child, which they still are. At least find someone out of high school. If this persons parents allow you to date the 16 year old, then they also need to step up and be parents.

I don't care what the legal age in Texas is..... a 23 yr old that is pursueing a 16 yr old has issues. Pehaps he can't find anyone his age because they all know he's a jerk and she becomes an easier target....
I bet he only dates younger girls who are infatuated by a guy his age finding them interesting. And the sad part is that he is not interested as much as he is able to manipulate the younger girls into giving it up...
Maybe he can't go to jail if the age in texas is 16, however that wouldn't stop me as her parent from putting the guy in the hospital.

The legal age is 17 if I am not mistaken. But go with 18 to be on the safe side. She is too young if she is 16
