I think you should definitely tell him - instead of waiting around and never knowing what could have been.

The way you do is what you feel is appropriate. Note if you see in him class; email/text if you barely see in him person; ask him out one day and tell him at the end of the night. If he doesn't have to go and drive off on you!

i have the same problem, but what i know is to make yourself noticeable! i mean talk to him whenever you can, if you do that and it's not working then ask his friends if he likes you if yes make your move you never know until you try :)
