Your papers should have numbers of both the Dam and Sire plus a litter number. Get the numbers from the breeder and go on line to www.akc.org or call them and verify the registration.

If it's AKC, you can contact them to verify that the litter registration/paperwork you are given is correct. If it isn't then, AKC can take action against that person.

I don't know about some of the others. But to be honest, there is a new registry popping up every day. Many were created for the back yard breeders and puppy millers because they did not want to comply with the AKC rules regarding DNA, multiple sired litters, etc. Just because the person says the dog has papers, doesn't guarantee a purebred or even a quality dog.

Could you be more specific? Is it the paperwork or the registry itself that you question?

If it is the paperwork that you think is bogus, then submit to register the puppy.

If you think the registry is bogus, research it online or post the name of it here and people will tell you if it is a scam.

Hope this helps.

no real test. It's your responsibility to look around the property where your puppy was purchased. Check the puppy itself for the proper purebred markings and traits.Check the food that the puppy is given. If your pet is high-quality the food given is of utmost importance to the breeder.

You can never know but only trust. Registry does not guarantee quality only shows who they parents were. They are many fake registies that backyard breeders use and they mean nothing because any body can register dogs even mixes. It is very important to buy from reputable breeders. Notify the AKC for authentication. They are the major source of papers for full-bred dogs. Have a dog gone great day.

It must be on the original paper with the letterhead from the kennel - AKC- CKC- etc. It should also have the dam and sire name with their #'s listed beside them- also you should have the pups litter # listed onto sheet and when you fill out your part and send it in then you should recieve the certificate with your pups name etc with a seal of authenticy!

If you doubt the seller's honesty, you should be looking elsewhere for a puppy.
