Take note of what is stressing you out. Write it on a piece of paper. It might not be what you think it is. For instance maybe the real issue inside is your career, your future, your past, a relationship? You have to write it down and recognise it as a problem.

Once this is done, accept the anxiety as a feeling, but don't let it control you. Create an imaginary perfect place, like an island with a palm tree, a forest, a lagoon, whatever suits you, and go there when you need it, imagining it as clearly as possible.

It will take time, but in the meantime just try to learn about yourself. Anxiety is the mental version of 'flight' when someone is scared, but as it is not a physical threat, you can't actually go anywhere so end up in frustration. So try to take control and feel security again. Keep yourself busy, find things to do, make yourself proud of little achievements and build up your self-esteem.
