This situation I believe was the whole reason for going into Iraq in the first place. Iran has been the largest sponsor of terrorism so it makes sense. Sometimes, you have to make the unpopular decisions to do the right thing. Our diplomatic people have been brainstorming and working with the DOD all along. Yet another game of nuclear chicken. Wish it wasn't necessary, but if Iran would stop their nonsense and settle down, it's likely they could prosper rather than make governmental decisions that starve their people. The recent election results are a hopeful sign but the country is still run by the religious leaders, their President has somewhat limited power there, same as ours. I believe they will flinch first. In spite of what I used to think about the radical Islam faction, they are the minority and the majority of the citizens don't want to see their country buried under glowing rubble. Neither do I...I hope they will listen to reason.

Iran under no circumstances threatened to wipe Israel of the map. Quote (Ahmedinijad): "The Regime occupying Jerusalem (as an ideology) could vanish off the website of time". This became quite often misquoted by the media. in spite of no remember in case you compromise with it or not, that's not a danger to wipe Israel off the map. There are no data of Iran threatining Israel or the U. S.. Whoever thinks Iran is a danger is loopy.

No and no. The troops are needed to seal off the borders of Iraq -- keeping Syria and Iran from sending in any more terrorists. Who will support Bush? Anyone who can clearly see what's REALLY at stake for the free world. All of the others (including a sect of the American population), would be just as happy to capitulate and let the terrorists run the world, so long as we don't have to lose any more military lives. It's a VERY short sighted, poorly thought out option. They haven't paid the least bit of attention to history and therefore are bound to repeat it at a great cost to the rest of us.

Yes, the Middle East is getting ready to blow and Iran is the reason.

Just remember...Congress authorizes the use of troops, not the president.

Besides, we really won't need troops over there for this one...just nuke 'em first.

It would not take much for Iran to back down. Look at the elections they had in Iran today. It shows they are tired of the War Mongering their own government is trying to do. He lost a lot of support today by his own people. They Iranians are a good people and are being held hostage by the Fanatical Muslim Right.

Everyone will be supporting the US unless of course you prefer grinding your grain with a mortar and pestle and riding into town on a donkey.

Hope this helps!

There is a saying that history will eventually repeat itself. Many moons ago, people were ready to throw Churchill to the lions because this nobody was starting to become a threat. They wanted him out and it nearly happened. For those of you who have no idea who I am talking about, this "nobody was Adolf Hitler. Maybe it's me, but there is an scary similarity going on here. People that think this Iranian nut-job is not a threat, I think you'll be eating your words real soon. Preventitve tactical measures are what we are employing and I approve of that. And yes, to answer the several lib readers, my son is on his third deployment and I am proud of him and his units efforts.

Most definitely were tired of being manipulated and lied too. So were giving them the pinch in the arm like the one your grandma gives you at church when you cant stay awake. so no one can tell your getting reprimanded and you wake the hell up. That's what the u.s is doing to Iran waking them up and warning them that they don't want it with the Big Bad Bush...

yes in fact over aggressive, theyre not even considering that maybe with their fragile economy iran just wants to cut down on some fixed costs, israel on the otherhand i cant blame, because iran do have tendencies to show aggressiveness towards it too, in fact i remeber the prim minister of iran saying he wants to wipe israel off the map. and no one will support bush, except the fascists which unfortunatly never seem to disappear

I'll be supporting Bush...All you liberals should wake up and smell the coffee. IRAN is telling everyone what they want to do...Don't you care?

Preserving our future may be costly, but it is certainly worth the cost.
