What you are looking for is simply a curtain rod, but you need something special in keeping with the artistry of your panel. Look for something more substancial to balance with the weight of the tapestry, so choose a rod with a larger diameter. ( wood poles are easiest to find in a larger diameter ) Add decorative finials ( end knobs ) to suit the character of the tapestry. A lot of rods come with these, especially metal rods. There is always a variety of wood also, to choose seperately. If the pattern is flowery or organic, pick a curving or swirling finial. If it is abstract geometric, look for a more modern, angular one. Add matching, decorative wall brackets for the rod, one at each end. If your pole is wood, you can find " sconce " brackets. These are wall sconces with a hole through to slide the ends of the pole in. If you use these instead of an ordinary rod bracket, you won't need finials because these will finish the ends of the rod. They are also larger and noticably more decorative.
Whether you choose wood or metal, take into consideration what other wood stains or metals are used in the room, and try to match these finishes.
Another method of hanging a tapestry, would be to attatch a weighty cord or rope to each end of the pole, and hang the rope from the centre, on the wall. This is how, historically, tapestries were hung. But in this case, you would have to consider the ceiling ht. and size of the tapestry, and how far down the wall you would have to hang it.
Good luck, and I hope this help.

Use a really nice curtain rod. For economy, go to a discount store. For extra luxury, try Bloomingdale's home furnishings.
