Yeah. If you're going to bash a theory with evidence, then present your own theory that has evidence too -- don't give something else that has NOTHING to support it.
They have permanent misconceptions about evolution. You'll always hear "if humans evolved from apes, why are there still apes?", "where are the intermediate species?", "life is too complex, that disproves evolution, right?" -- the LAST thing they want is someone to clear up those questions for them. That's why I hate it when "fundies" ask questions about evolution on here. Evolution is a topic that is well worth discussing, but a creationist question about evolution is a loaded question. The last thing that they want is for you to help them understand the theory. On the contrary, they want everyone to say "oh wow, yeah, that's a good point -- I guess evolution is wrong!". They don't want an answer at all, they want agreement.
Obviously the answer why they do that is because they're incredibly religiously biased -- in their minds "God" has spoken to them and answers their prayers, so they're never going to let themselves believe other things that would totally contradict everything in the Bible. I mean, again, you're dealing with people who seriously think that evolution is "Satan's attempt to trick everyone" -- you can present as much evidence as you want, but if someone's using that kind of logic, you're never, ever, ever going to get through to them.

If you've been on YA longer than a day, you'll realise this question has been asked and resolved millions of times a day in so many versions. If you look somewhere near the top right of the screen you'll see a tab labelled 'discover'. Use it. I think if you do that you might be so overwhelmed with the number of answers out there. If that's too hard for you try searching for your question. You'll find that just under the 'answer' tab.

You are correct straight down the line. I don't really understand their problem but I suspect it is like this:
A long time ago scientists came up with theories that said that the Earth was not the center of the universe. Of course, it was a theory because nobody had a spaceship to go up in and look down on the solar system. This was incredibly disturbing to many people of faith. It nearly toppled their world (no pun intended). I think Creationism is like that. It's not that they have evidence for it. It's that they a deperately clinging to it.
IMHO, I could be wrong :)

Because they have douche bags like Kent Hovind and Kirk Cameron constantly feeding them lies they like to call "creation science." Science continues to build and new knowledge is discovered every day, but creationists keep passing around the same old lies and misunderstandings because they're not willing to find the answers for themselves. I used to be a creationist. I was totally into "creation science." I thought people like "Dr. Dino" were just the coolest. But then I got into a few debates with non-creationists and realized that I didn't really know anything, so I decided to do some research. But after researching the evolution vs. creationism debate, rather than discovering strong points for my argument I realized what a bunch of crap "creation science" is and I switched sides.

What mounds of evidence? Radiographic dating is based on a theory and no empirical evidence. Missing links of humans? Could also be the skulls of the children of the fallen angels, whom the Bible says were distorted, large, and as mean as animals.
As for creation, I give you the human brain.
Capable of absorbing 10MBs per second of data, with the storage capacity to last over 10,000 years. What kind of evolutionary pressure could result in this type of ability? Did man once live for 10,000 years and we have since de-evolved?

This is just a lie create by them, the whole missing link theory. This is what they have been told and they probably never actually look for real answers or if it right in front of them they chose not to believe it cause its the work of satan. Yet again religion sets back science 1000's of years

I've looked at the 'evidence' and I find it severely lacking. Cosmologically, both creationism and big bang have the same essential problem. From whence did it all come?
But be that as it may, I prefer to believe that my great, great, great...great grandfather was a special creation by the Creator of All rather than believe he was a chimpanzee or whatever?
I may be wrong, but in the big scheme of things it matters not a whit...except that my life and self-esteem are greatly enriched by knowing that my long lost cousin isn;t residing is some zoo somewhere flinging his feces at human gawkers.
You may feel otherwise....and good luck with that. But tell me, why does it bother you so that I, and others believe as we do? Does it harm you in any way, shape or form?

As a rule, our egos are not proportionate to our intellect. The smart person will grasp reality, accept it and make the best of it. The dumb person cannot grasp it but their egos prevent them from accepting their inferior intellects as reality so their only recourse is to declare reality void and adopt a belief system that uses "faith" to remove the need to make any more futile attempts to grasp what is beyond them. It is not my intention to denigrate anybody. That's just the way things are.

As all that scientific evidence piles up they are just making a case for God.
Of all the gadzillion things that could have happened it didn't and this universe, our planet, our humaness did.
Try and imagine all the zero's next to the odds of this all happening by chance!

Because God works in my life everyday. I would ask you why you feel so angry that someone has a different belief than you? Are you searching for something? Does the scientific explanation for life not completely fit with what your heart tells you is truth? God works on us all one by one. Everyone is in different stages in their faith. By the feeling and passion in your question I believe there is hope for you yet. I suggest you read Josh Mcdowell's book Evidence That Demands a Verdict.
