My mother has been given tablets for her arthiritis. The tablets contain:

Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati

Radix Gentianae Macrophyllae

Ramulus Cinnamomi

Cortex Crythrinac

She is feeling ill on these tablets and cannot take any more. I thought I'd ask here to find out why she may be feeling ill and more about the ingredients listed. Thanks!

Below is a link to the Sloan-Kettering data-base on herbals, and there are many others on the web. Unfortunately, I was not able to find any of these in this data base. I have found similarly named herbals, but none that are exact.

Herbals can have just as many side effects as traditional medications, and are generally less well studied. Additionally, depending on where you obtain them, there can be very little quality control so you may not be taking what is on the label.
