Legal citation is a system to help you locate a certain reported judge's opinion for a case - not all cases are reported.

1. After you list the name of the parties in the case, start with the number of the volume to a particular case reporter series

2. List the name of the Reporter

3. give the number of the page where the case begins.

Also, you can name the court that issued the legal opinion and the year the opinion was issued.

Here is the correct citation for the Miranda decision, perhaps the most famous criminal case in U.S. Supreme Court history:

Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966)

The parties are Miranda and the State of Arizona

The opinions are printed in volume 384 of the United States Reporter [that is the Reporter for the U.S. Supreme Court only].

The opinions start on page 436. The opinion was issued in 1966.

I sure hope this helps.

If you could only twist the meaning of a sentence like I can...

What exactly are you looking for? A website regarding a traffic citation or similar?

You question is a bit too vague.
