It's probably worth pointing out that any attempt to beg for a lesser charge is not a "defense", but merely an attempt at plea bargaining. You didn't know it was a construction zone, but the law says that ignorance of the law (however innocent) is no excuse. So the prosecution needs to prove the following, from preponderance of the evidence (not beyond a reasonable doubt): 1) That you were driving the car 2) That the car was speeding 3) That the car was in a construction zone The officer's testimony will easily establish these facts. The officer will also state that you claimed you knew you were speeding. In the end, you're probably lucky it's only $375. I would get to court early and try to use your (clean) driving record to ask for regular speeding. It's about the only thing to do.

Since buttholes can not drive, I'm going to assume you mean inconsiderate people. The fact of the matter is that some people ARE inconsiderate. The situation could be that the person is old and unsure of driving faster. A person could be looking for an address or a turn off. In any case, how important is this? You are letting others occupy your mind rent free. Life is too short to live this way.

Because most speed laws have two ends, a maximum speed limit and a minimum speed limit.
As long as they fall between the two, they aren't breaking any laws, and have the right to drive that way.
The question you should be asking is "Why don't I have the patience that allows everyone to use the roads the way they were meant to be used?
Yes it can be annoying, but no single person owns the roads. The sooner you learn that, the less this will bother you. It bothers me too, but only when they drive under 25.

There is no law that says a person has to drive at the speed limit. Only on Interstates is a minimum speed of 40mph is posted. If you were butthole, imagine how difficult it would be to drive at all. No hands, no eyes.

Because 45 is the Limit, Not the Minimum, although I do agree that it is very annoying, there is no minimum speed when the speed limit is 45mph & under . Check you state and local traffic law for further details.

Because they do not take driving as seriously as the rest of us.
Drive like your life depends on it. Because it does.
