I want to break up with my boyfriend and we've talked about this before, but he tells me "I can't leave." So should I just unplug the phone, and not answer the door when he comes around?

You shouldnt be with anyone who does not make you happy. You can leave dont listen to that and if he trys anything get the police involved.

You just answered your own question. You know exactly what you have to do. This guy is controlling and you need to get rid of him NOW!
No man/boy can tell you what you can or cannot do. You are your own FREE person.
Tell him it's over, don't answer his calls or the door when you know it's him. If he persists, call the police and get a restraining order.

yep!!! and if that doesn't work you might want to consider getting the law involved. don't stay with someone you don't want to be with, life is too short. he seems sort of needy. so if you break up with him you have to be firm and you have to cut him off completely or else he will no take you seriously at all. what does he mean he cant leave???? thats a stupid answer. i know its reli hard to dump sum1 and u feel terrible afterwards but its for the good of you both. i broke up wif my ex twice. it was painful.
