She's pregnant! IFrom what I read in your question, it sounds like she is pregnant. Cats carry their babies for about 66 days. If you feel her stomach, the individual fetuses can be felt from around day 17 to day 25. Increased head and neck rubbing, also an early sign of pregnacy. If you try feeling her stomach and can feel individual babies she is most likely half-way. If you still have her when she is coming close to having kittens, she will seek a secluded area 12 to 48 hours before she gives birth. The cat's temperature will often drop below 99 degrees a few hours before birth, it doesn't happen in every cat, but it occurs about 98% of the time, so temperature drop is a very reliable sign. Before she goes in labor she will pace, seem restless, and act mean toward other animals or strangers. Her nipple areas swell little by little through out the pregnacy. I hope this helps, if you have anymore questions, feel free to e-mail me any time. I love cats, and the one you found may not have a home. It makes me so happy when someone takes care of a cat thats in a bad situation. Keep me updated on her if you can! Good Luck! tried to send you a reply but it wouldn't send.

You should take her in for a check-up right away. First round of shots should be started at 6-8 weeks of age. She should also be checked for parasites, and you might consider having her tested for FeLV and FIV. She will also need those shots boostered every three weeks or so until she's 16 weeks. She will need at the very least the feline distemper vaccination, and, when she's old enough, rabies as well. There is a vaccination for FeLV you should also consider. Costs for vaccinations vary widely by region, but I would say you should expect to pay between $10 and $20 per vaccination.

if she goes super nice to everything, eats more, belly gets bigger than she more than likely is preggas so soon she will look for some where out of the way, warm, dark and quite to begin making her nest where she will give birth and keep the kittens till they start trying to eat that bowl of cat food you've left by the nest so she doesn't have to go far from the kittens. And then encourage them to explore up and down your house, when our cat had kittens we couldn't afford to take her to the vets and she was fine we just kept a close eye on her and when she looked fit to burst kept her in the house till she had had her kittens and things had settled down hope iv helped had lodes of cats had 20 in one house once. the kittens will need there jabs phone your vet and ask about that I'm not sure

Just watch her belly and see if it grows. Also check out her nipples to see if they grow. Feel her stomach a little bit (gently squeeze) if she's several weeks also you should feel some lumps.
But, just in case take her to the vet. She needs her shots anyway and to be tested for any diseases that strays routinely get.
Good job on the rescue! You'll have a good baby for life!

I had a cat adopt us a well and yes she was pregnate we noticed her love handles start to pop out a bit and let me tell you she ate about 3 cans of wet food a day plus her dry as time goes by you will notice her tummy expanding a bit ..it doesn't take long either
as a cat will give birth in less then 90 day..so just watch her.

Watch her alot. Does she lick around the birthing area? That could be a sign. But the best way to figure out, though, is by going to the vet.

Why don't you want to take her to the vet? If it's a question of money you may not want to keep the dog. Providing proper vet care is crucial to any pet, especially a pregnant one. Your local shelter should be happy to take her in, and they'll get her spayed once the pups are here.
However she may not be pregnant, but possible sick, like some sort of uterine infection. You really need to take her to the vet.

If you have taken in this dog you should probably take it to the vet to make sure all is well and then they can answer that for you.
