Don't ask him to ask you. Ask him yourself. If he rejects you, it's not the end of the world. Yeah, you could feel embarassed for a short while, but in the scheme of things, everything will be alright. Plus, if he rejects you, he's not worth your time anyway.
I suck at the whole, dating, thing myself, but if I were you, I'd take matters into my own hands and ask him myself.
Good luck!

Don't date anyone you run the risk of being publicly humiliated by. Who's to say he wouldn't humiliate you later at the dance or the next day?. If this guy was interested in you and has known you all this time he would have approached you by now. Find someone who is less of a goof ball and attracted to "psycho's"..or better yet them find you. Go with a friend to the dance or not at all. Guys don't like to be chased or convinced they often prefer to be the aggressor.

You may have to risk public humiliation. You need to weigh how much you like him against how bad you'd feel if he said no. Just say hey, I was wondering if you were going to the Christmas dance, and if he says yes, then say well if you aren't already going with someone, would you like to go with me? Actually, that line would work if he said no or maybe, just ask him (do it in private so to cut back on possible humiliation) but you won't ever get anywhere in life if you don't take some risks. Go for it girl!

Being a parent, I have to ask the unpopular question...why are you dating at 12 years old? I guess it all depends on your definition of "dating." If you're simply wanting to go to a dance with this boy, that seems harmless. Real dating should wait until your 15-16, I believe. To answer your question. If you really like this boy, don't wait...have a trusted friend discreetly ask him if he'd like to go with you...and then have the friend tell him they'll ask you for him. Kinda put the deal on him, so if he says no, it isn't quite so embarrassing.

Take the chance and ask him out. Worst that can happen is that he says no. You're only 12, you've got the rest of you life, one guy saying no is not going to end it. Humiliation will only last a few days, disappointment in yourself can last a bit longer.

First of all let me start by saying that you don't LOVE this boy. You might have feelings for him but not LOVE it is LUST. Don't let him hear you say that you love him, it will freak him out. My best advice would be to talk to him as you normally would, and ask him about the dance example: ask him if he is going, and if he says yes, then ask him if he is going w/ anyone, If he says no then there is your opportunity to tell him that you would go with him. If he seems wierded out play it off like you want to go just as friends. But if he says that he doesn't want to go w/ anyone then just tell him that you don't want to go with anyone either, you were just trying to do him a favor. This way you are asking him to go without directly asking him. And if he turns you down, then you have a way to play it off without getting made fun of!!!!
Good Luck!!!!

When I was in middle school I gave the guy I liked a small inexpensive gift that let him know I liked him. He accepted and then asked me out.
I know you called them 'complete psychos' but what is it about them that he likes? It has to be something if he's dating them. If it's not who you are then maybe it's time to look at someone else :) Maybe there is someone in your class/hallways that has been looking at you and hoping you'd just smile at him.
Good Luck!

Try to put it differntly:
see first if he is interested to go to the dance ???
Then, say to him joking that " you wanna go with to the dance with anyone but not him , he will turn to be likely to ask why ??
you would tell him that you joke & acctually wanna go with him ...
this is the least way to embaress yourself ... because no ans will sound a joke and will not humilate you
Good luck ... go for it :)
