They happen for a second or two and give me no pain just a sudden freezing feeling in my chest. My illness tells me that it is the devil taking my soul for the unforgivable sins of my past. Could there be a more rational medical reason for it? Does anyone else get this?

I have a 17 year old son who has schizophrenia it is a very complexed illness and cause many strange things to happen to the body. My son takes the shakes and sweats profusely through the night and is petrified of falling into a deep sleep incase he doesn't wake up again he thinks that his heart stops beating sometimes. Fortunately it is the mind that plays the tricks to the body most of the time.
Also sometimes a change in medication also causes different body reactions.
In most cases when something occurs like this it is because you are thinking about it it will happen again and again. Another lad I know who has this illness used to think his voice box (Adams apple)was swelling and choking him.
Just mention to you Dr when you see him next maybe you need your meds changed again as our bodies get used to the same medication and sometimes needs increased or decreased.
Good Luck and God Bless it is an awfull illness to live with I have watched my son battle with it and I really understand how hard it must be.

I think the shivers are perhaps borne out of fear, when we are afriad, we get cold (or some people hot). The devil can't touch you if you have a good heart, have pure thoughts (which I'm sure you do). Just ask God, please God, protect me from all evil & He will, I promise you.
We are all sinners & if you sincerely ask for forgiveness you'll be forgiven. Even that you're admitting your sins, means you are a good person becos bad people think they're always good & never do anything wrong. Even in the Bible it says we are all sinners. so don't worry.
I was labeled as being schizophrenic by doctors but they don't know themsleves what it means. It's just a general term for delusions, hallucinations or being out of touch with reality becos reality is sometimes too harsh for us. don't label urself , u r a unique person with ur own feelings & emotions & u r not an illness.
