I have a brother who died in '83 in Singapore. I know he was cremated but I don't know where and would like to find out. What would be my starting point? Get a death cert or something like that?

Hope that helps, not sure if the info includes location though.

There are no requirements to bury the ashes in a specific location. One can scatter it or keep it at home if they wish. You have to do a bit of detective work, but there must be tons of resting places in Singapore as this is big business. Buddhist members can keep theirs popular lodges and are pray over day and night. Eurasians would hire a bumboat out and scatter in the seas. I am waiting for an entreprenuer who make artifical reefs from them for Uncle Tom to watch over baby nemos.
