God did all the work to make you holy. And asks you to just take salvation as a gift you think that's barring anyone from His presence? Give me a break! Jim

What you call an excuse I call an answer. If you ask a Christian or check out the Bible you will see what our beliefs are based on. You do chose where you want to spend eternity. Do you think any God would allow someone into His presence who hated Him and wanted nothing to do with Him all of their life. There is only one other place to go, Hell. Hell is a tough place to be and it does not have to be that way. If you lack the faith to believe in God then ask Him to give you the faith. He really does try to keep you out of Hell. But whether you like it or not He gave you free choice.

Well, there's no excuse being made in your example, but I think I have an idea what you're getting at. God it just too great for humans to fully comprehend. Truthfully, as a Gnostic, all I can confirm of God is that he is PURE LOVE. God does not posses human characteristics- he does not have hatred or anger. He has only love. I do not believe in hell. I know that our loving mother and father would never cast us out. If darkness is your choice in this life you may simply live another life here on this earth of hardship. You will grow from your experience here, and God will always love you!

You criticize what you don't understand tells me one thing -ignorance-. So let me enlighten you with some wisdom if you do not mind? God in the first place doesn't need excuses for any thing. You want people to have God make an excuse for not letting us have what we truly deserve and that is HELL. Do you honestly believe if your good enough you will go to heaven (NOT!) Your just mad at the Christan's for confessing that Jesus is lord over lives which ticks you off. Why don't you get over your self righteous attitude and quit judging what the word of God really says...

I agree with Lindsey the Gnostic's answer. There is no eternal hell. You can have the experience of hell, for a time, after you leave this world...if that is what you believe you deserve. We create our own realities, even after we die, because in truth death doesn't exist, . We are not our bodies, and we simply discard our bodies when we are finished with them, and then we move on. When we are ready, we come back to experience another lifetime, in a new body. God truly is pure love, and perfect, and doesn't need anyone to make excuses for him/her.
It is just that some people's concept of God, is far less than perfect, in the eyes of most free thinkers.

I don't have to make excuses for him, no way. If I'm asked a question i try to give the fullest reply i can. But like the answer or not there is no circumstance which i feel i have to make excuses for God or justify his actions. God does say HE will send people to hell, so whats your point?

God is amazing. People don't make excuses for him, they inform those who don't understand the real truths about him and his kingdom. In your sense, people wouldn't naturally "choose" hell. If everyone believed in heaven and hell, then very few would actually choose hell. It is because people have not taken in the good news of the lord and empraced it that they go to hell. God does send those who do not believe in the savior to hell because that is his deal for us on Earth. We are given immortality and a happy life forever in heaven if now on Earth we served him and believe in the teaching of the savior. If we reject him on Earth, God sends the nonbelievers into hell for their past actions. That is his deal.

This is a problem of point of view. From your point of view people are making excuses for God. From their point of view, they are trying to clarify a misunderstanding.
As for the Hell thing, it seems the theory is that God values faith, and therefore He will not undeniably prove himself to you. He wants you to have faith in Him, and he won't let you take back your denial after you're dead, and you find out undeniably that he is real, and that you are going to Hell for rejecting God. This is the value system many Christians appear to be operating under. The real rub is whether or not anyone knows the value system the universe judges us upon, if at all.
