Try letting him go i nthe bathroom when daddy goes. They also have these really cool soft foam things you place in the toilet for little boys to "aim" at. It takes some time. Some kids get the idea faster than others. You just keep yourself trying and sending him to the potty. I used to have a timer and send him to the potty every hour at first, half an hour later on. He got the idea and didn't need to use timer anymore.
