Depends, if you define the best deal as cheapest, then Pipex, I think it's something insane like £6.99 a month.

Though for reliability, I've found BT Total Broadband to be the best, whilst it may be a little more expensive, you get a reliable connection, as well as lots of free incentives such as online file storage, and your BT username is compatable with Yahoo applications such as messenger, (you also get a free upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus on the primary account).
In many cases, you will also get a free wireless router and BT Hub Phone, so you can make free evening and weekend calls on your Broadband designated phone number, (not your ISDN number, they give you another phone number for use ON the internet for free, also, you can make really cheap INTL calls, such as US for 1.25p/m).

You can actually get broadband for free from certain online providers, by accepting pop-up ads and such to generate the revenue, but to be honest, these aren't all that great.

Final word on it: BT Total Broadband.

The best broadband deal doesn't exactly translate to the best broadband connection. Simply something to keep in mind.

id have to say bt they may not have the cheapest deal but the cheapest isnt always the best, but as for the service its brillant and only takes 5working days order online or over the phone its good to know that they have call centres so that way if for any reasons there are any problems you can always call and speak to someone!

BT may not be the cheapest, but their service is superb. Just look out for all the extras they may try and flog you, but if you complain....they take it off!
