Well, yes, I do go through this unfortunately. I have an 18 month old son and ever since he started daycare (4 months ago) he's had pink eye, ear infections, stomach flu's and he just got over bronchitis.
I breastfed him for 9 months and he was also not in a daycare then. He never got sick at all. It was actually when I enrolled him there that he has gotten so sick.
It's hard because I am a single mom with no family either. In order for me to work fulltime, I really do need to keep him there or I can't work. It's also hard when he does get sick because I have to take time off work to care for him. There have really been days where I just felt so helpless and sad about the situation.
Thankfully, the Doctors and others keep telling me "he'll build his immunity system". In fact, if I hear that one more time it may be the 100th time I've heard it. I just have to believe it though. If it's just to keep my sanity and hope while I go through this stage of his life.
Hang in there, and I will try to also. Good luck.

I know when I was a kid it seemed like I was always sick with something. Having my tonsils out helped some, but what really fixed it was getting out of school and away from all the other kids who were sick. Just take them to the doctor, get them some meds, and it should pass (although you may want to make sure it's nothing serious, which your doctor should be able to tell you).

As for the ehad cold/sore throat, they may just be passing it around among each other. Chronic ear infections are something else though. Does a smoker live in the house? Second hand smoke causes ear infections, and chronic ear infections can lead to hearing loss. I don't know about you, but my kids have selective hearing at best, so I sure don't want it to get any worse. Make sure they take their vitamins, get proper sleep and drink some OJ.

Are they around other kids alot? Do they go to a daycare provider or school that allows sick kids to remain there (even when sick)?
Every mom deals with this. What you need to do is teach your kids to wash their hand frequently. I taught mine that once every hour you need to get up from playing and wash your hands. This helped a lot. Also you need to teach them to use Kleenex when their nose is runny and to also wash their hands after using the Kleenex.
If your child goes to daycare have a chat with your provider telling them that your child is always sick and ask them what they do to prevent the spread of illnesses. Do they have a sick child restriction policy? Do they daily soak the toys in bleach or spray the area with Lysol or disinfectant?
Also have a chat with your child's teacher. Maybe they have become lax in cleaning and reminding the kids to wash their hands frequently. My child's classroom keeps diaperwipes, Kleenex and antibacterial hand gel on hand at all times. The kids are taught to use this if they can't immediately wash their hands.
Lastly, if one of your child's cousins or neighbors is sick keep your child away from them. I know its fun for the kids to socialize, but if the other child is sick you know yours is gonna get it.
If you child has more than 5 throat infections and ear infections within a year that are eligible to get their tonsils out. Having my daughter's removed helped her SO MUCH! She is rarely sick anymore.
Good luck!

Some kids get sick more than others, especially if they are in daycare. A good way to boost their immune system is a good multivitamin-age appropriate and acidophilus-found in yogurt or you can buy it in the health food store in powder or chewable for kids. This is what I do for my 3 year old. He gets sick still, but not as often. If they have been taking alot of antibiotics then they are depleted of acidophilus-our good bacteria. If they are on any antibiotics you need to make sure when you give them the acidophilus that they take 2 hours before/after antibiotic. If not they cancel one another out.

I don't know what the climate is where you live, But my inner senses are telling me that it is a cold climate. When I was a kid, I lived in a cold climate, and when I had problems, it was for any one of the following reasons:
1. I was cold because I forgot to button my winter coat, left my scarf flying and ran out the door
2. my house needed a humidifier
3. I was really tired (I play too hard), I got to bed too late, and then could not sleep properly.
4. I forgot to talk to myself about all my problems... and then
to bless the Lord for all He had done for me ...
5. I badly needed some rose-hip tea.
6. I was worried about myself.
Now, maybe some of these things might help because kids are kids.... and also they get things from other kids and they are really sensitive.... a kid's life should be kind of quiet 'cause a kid needs time to think and recover.. especially teen-age kids....
There is a quote: the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts..(Iforgot who said it). today, everybody rushes kids around ... they need time to think, rest and recover... after all, they are straight off the branch, so to speak, and not accustomed to pacing themselves.....
Whew! Will that do? I hope so.
Merry Christmas!

Take the kids in to see the doctor to find out if they have strep throat, sinus problems and allergies. If they are sick they will need antibiotics if it is infection.
Do not allow smoking in the house or around them. Good luck!

Sounds to me like its time to break out the Lysol spray and wipes! First make sure that they are being treated thoroughly for any illness they may have now. Give them their vitamins and clean EVERYTHING in your home (esp. bed linens, bleach toothbrushes, use disinfecting wipes on their toys and furniture. wash their coats, hats, gloves.) Teach them proper hand washing (30 seconds with warm water and soap). Most important is to not smoke or allow smoking around them.
Good luck and hope the little ones are better before Christmas!!!

Go to the doctor and ask about their tonsils.
Kids who get sick often usually have to have their tonsils out.
It could be allergies too..all the mucus draining into their throats..can't be good
