Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabrakatu. Growing the beard is an obligation for Muslim men. As I a Muslimah I have little knowledge on hijab for men. however men were ordered not to imitate women, and shaving of the beard is considered so. I have found a couple of lectures on the topic from Sheikhs with much more knowledge who can advise you better than anyone here. Links are below. Insha'ALLAH ta ALLAH you will find all the answers to your question in these lectures. SIster Halimah.

In most orthodox religions of the book (The old testament) (The Koran) it is a sin to cut the hair that grows naturally on a mans body. A beard is made by god and it is a abomination to remove it. In Islam and Christianity non orthodox members of those religions have a tendency not to follow the ancients laws lay ed out in the early teaching of the religion. Christian's and Moslem's who shave their faces are not following the early teachings. So each one has committed the same sin according to their religions if they do shave and cut their hair.

Yes it sunnah to have a beard, and if you follow the way of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), then you should keep beard, so most Muslims typically do this in older age. At least thats my plan, God forgive me if I am doing wrong.

Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor.any doubt. The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient. [6:114-115]

Muhammad is the standard.

If he wiped with stones, then Muslims are to do so as well.

If he hated jews, so should Muslims.
