too many contradictions

2006-12-19 08:46:02 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

A: Because it involves what we feel and accept on a very basic level.

B: So many dogma's in different religions tell you that their way is the only true way and you must do whatever you can get others to accept the only true way.

C: Spirituality is not just something that passes in and out of your life at a whim. "Why am I here?" is a question that will still be there no mater how much a person tries to ignore it

D: The meme of part of oneself being eternal and what happens after the body stops living is so global in nature that the questions around that could be asked in any language.

E: Ha! How could it possibly be easy? It's been with humanity since before recorded(in any form) history occurred. Look at anything else that has been with us for that long and you will find something else that is not easy.( ie: reproduction, us vs. them , war, ect..)

I don't know. They like to make it that way.

Jesus prayed when he felt the need.

If he really had a strong need he went into the Mountains and prayed there.

Jesus certainly learned the Jewish Rituals of the Temple and he knew how to pratise them, but he didn't minister that way, except to the temple goers in the city.

Since Chrisitians aren't formally Jewish they never learned those rituals.

Jesus taught one one praryer, about our Father who art in Heaven.

Jesus, at a Jewish ritual of PAssover passed the wine glass and broke bread and asked those with him to remember him when they do this every day and each year at the same festival and remember the wine was the blood he would spill and the bread his flesh, all given to redeem and save mankind.

Jesus also got baptized in water.

Jesus said we are to make God more important than our mothers, fathers, sons and daughters.

The interesting part is he didn't say wife or spouse.

Jesus also said all men should marry and not set their spouse aside except for adultery (cheating with another sexually or possibly in others ways).

Aside from that and reading the Bible and discovering the correct ways from the incorrect ways (both of which are covered in the Bible), the rest is up to you.

As for religion. They concocked their own rituals and if you want to be in the clique you learn them.

Is this following a false prophet, possibly. Could it get you in trouble with God, maybe.

I will give you one bit of advise I feel it all true. When all is done and said you MUST take responsiblity for ALL you do, including the religious beliefs you follow.

Don't ever tell God, "the church made me do it" "My ministers said I had to" "Mommy told me it was required" "My wife kept twisting my arm."

God doesn't respond well to weasles. He didn't much like Eve's laying the blame on the serpent and Adam laying the blame on Eve.

You do it, you stand there, admit to it and take what's coming to you.

You gotta problem with what you have done, then START WONDERING NOW, why you do it!

There is a popular picture among the LDS that is a picture of Christ that states "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it."
Which, really, I do not know that he is documented as ever actually saying that, but it is true...it's not easy unless you let it be either. If you decide that sin just isn't a part of your life, temptation is very easy to turn down when it is presented.

It was originally simple. Then the Bubba preachers of the world complicated it and corrupted it to make it difficult.

The overall theme of the Bible is so simple.

1. Harmony is harmony. (harmony is its own reward)

2. Disharmony is the only sin against God.

3. Jesus came to Earth to reitterate the above 2 messages.

4. God has always had a plan for us to have eternal life after our stay here on Earth.

When you start to understand it more, you will not think it so difficult. It will come to you like a lite bulb being turned on.
Ask God to help you understand, he will help you.

"Religion" is hard, it is a series of do, do, do, work, work, work. Work to show yourself worthy to God, work to appease Him, work to be justified, work to get to Heaven. Christianity says, it is done, the work finished. Those who are believers are justified by Christ's sacrifice and are now seen by the Father in the righteousness of Christ. We don't have to earn our salvation or work to appease God, it is already done.

Mat 11:28 Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, "and you will find rest to your souls." Jer. 6:16
Mat 11:30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

Because it's like a hobby for most people. Practiced infrequently, without commitment, out of habit and ignorance.

Besides, Yahoo answers wouldn't exist without it.
