What is the best prepaid phone on the market? I only need for emergency.?

tracfone.
for about $100 you can get a free phone and 250 min. sometimes, with promotion codes, you can up the min to around 400.
you can buy the phone/card online at tracfone.com
and you can buy the cards at walmart and a couple other stores i think.
the minutes last a whole yr. the only problem with this is if you aren't going to use 250 min in a yr. you still need to buy 250 more within the yr to keep your unused min activated. that's the only bummer part. you could let a friend/family member use the phone for awhile if you don't want to waste the minutes...just a thought.

I researched and found that a tracfone was the best. $20 for the phone and $129 for 1 year of service and 400 min. For $149 you are set for the year. And I purchased my minutes on line instead of in the store, they had lots of specials on line and I got a bonus of 300 min.

I have AllTel's pre-pay (pay as you go). After you buy your choice of phone, you can add on (buy) however many minutes you want and they don't expire. All you have to do is make one phone call, at least one-minute long, each month to avoid a $4 service charge.
