...that takes good quality photos and has a good zoom and focus but preferably not over £120. Any recomendations? Thankies.

Keeping in mind your budget, here are the options:

HP X17 has 5 MP and x5 optical zoom and the price is within your budget.
cannon A530 is close to your budget and with 5 MP and x4 optical zoom.
Next but slightly above the budget is A540 with 6 MP and x4 zoom.
Also a bit above your budget (but not too high) are Kodak Z650 with 6 MP and x10 zoom (waw); as well as Kodak C875 with 8 MP and x5 zoom.

the following is re-posted from another question in case it helps. You may see some repetitions:
Kodak C875 is a good camera (@ approx $300 US) with 8MP (pixel) and an optical zoom of x5. This is a good combination of price, Optical zoom and Pixel. The optical zoom helps in taking shots of distant object (brought closer). However if you need more zoom, Kodak has now Z710 (7 MP and x10 zoom @ approx $300 or less), Z612 ( 6 MP and x12 zoom @ approx $330 or less) and P712 (7 MP and x12 Zoom with better Video mode specs @ appro $500).
Similarly if not restricted by budget, Cannon PS S3 IS is a new addition with 6 PM and x12 Zoom @ $430 US approx. Cannon has less repair frequency (statistically).

In the same high Zoom league you will find Olympus SP 510 UZ with 7 MP and x10 optical Zoom @ approx $330 US.

Similarly Sony newer release DSCH5 (or DSCH5B for black colour) is 7MP and x12 optical zoom @ $475 or less.

Ignore the digital zoom because its purpose can be achieved in other ways. Digital zoom is achieved by sacrificing the picture quality.

Wait for boxing day and watch for prices but look at the models to get familiar with before that day.
I like the specifications of Kodak P712 for Video editing (besides other features)but the price is holding me.
I would like to combine video clips to make a continuous video from two or more clips. Has anyone seen such capability on other digital cameras.?

I have been really happy with Sony cameras - many are reasonably priced and I have never been disappointed with the results - you might check out www.cnet.com for review - I just bought a Sony S500 and like it a great deal. Good luck.
