I believe that Jesus died for my sins. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and Thou Shalt Be Saved." When people talk about accepting Jesus into your heart or letting him guide you, where does the Bible say anything about that?

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Sanctify: Make holy, to reverence as holy, or to give authority to.

Acutally It does not say anything about asking Jesus into your heart. The Bible tells us to repent, which when translated means "to change your mind" of who Jesus Christ is. To simply believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and came to this world to die for your sins, and was risen three days later. This is all that is needed to get to heaven. Salvation is not by works. Once you are saved the Holy Spirit is imparted to you to guide your walk with the Lord. God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one.

Yeah, evangelical Christians have real issues with the vague expression "let Jesus into your heart." The metaphor does not give a good description of what needs to take place. I'd go back to the big mack daddy commandment: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself." All the Law and the Prophets hang on that commandment. If we did that, REALLY did everything we could to do that, it would be easy to spot the followers of Jesus.

This is a great question! God honors us when we honor Him. God has no problem when we ask for wisdom with understanding, especially when it comes to the truth claims of God written in the bible.

Believe in the "Lord Jesus Christ", Jesus is the Lord. You have answered your own question. Before you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your master was sin. You cannot serve two masters. You either serve sin or you serve righteousness. Jesus is the Lord of Righteousness.

In the bible when it refers to your "heart" it is referring to your inner man. As a born again Christian you are a 3 part man. You are a physical or natural man. You are a soul man that is inside of the physical man. And you are a spirit man that was God breathed upon your re-birth and your spirit also resides inside your physical man. All 3 parts of you meet in your mind. You are also host to the Holy Spirit that indwells within you. It is the Holy Spirit that is your guide and communicates with you through your spirit man. This communication between God's Spirit and your spirit is how God communicates with you in person. When you are being guided by the Holy Spirit and your spirit is leading the 3 part man that you are, then you are being spirit led.

Serving righteousness over sin is covered well in Romans. Having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort you and to be your source of Godly wisdom, strength and self-discipline is covered in Acts.

Jesus is given the name above all names and that name is Lord. We are servants of righteousness, therefore, we submit our will to the will of God. Jesus states that if you know me then you know my Father for I and the Father are One. He also states that He will send "the Comforter" and that He will never leave us. With the indwelling of the Holy Spirit this is literally true.

I have tried to keep it short and have clarity. If you are still confused or have more questions feel free to e-mail me.

well if the Holy Spirit comes into your life, then Jesus has also come into your life..
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Also what you quoted "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" you are believeing on him as LORD in your life. You have made him your personal LORD when you pray and he comes to stay with

To love Him, you must let Him into your heart, just like anybody else you love. The Word says to love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. The Word says to believe in Him. That means to believe HIM, and what He said. He had plenty to say about how we should live, which is guidance. READ the Bible. Ask God for understanding. Pray for your eyes to be opened to the Word.

"The Pentecost"; as Jesus died on the crucifix, Peter was in town telling people to believe in him.

This is the exact moment when people began 'speaking in tongues' and all could understand each other.
