How much do you eat?
What are you supposed to avoid?
How do you avoid blood sugar dropping really bad?

My brother is hypoglycemic, but it seems like the only time he lets it affect the way he eats is when he is having a sugar dive. Then he eats the sweets. He is VERY overwieght & I am scared as to what would happen to his kids if something happened to him. (One daughter is autistic.)

I generally eat about 4 meals a day and you can always find me munching on food.... the key to having him avoid sugar dives is to eat small meals throughout the day and always carry like a little snack with you....if you go into a sugar dive, you have a tendency to wolf down everything and anything just because you may be lightheaded, shaky, etc. Also, if he is overweight...he needs to make sure that he's munching on healthy things whether it's fruits, carrots, raisins, crackers, string cheese, etc. For emergencys, I also carry glucose tablets which are fast dissolving sugars tabs basically that will temporarily bring up the sugar level somewhat so that you have time to find real food.

Forgot to add that in addition to sticking to healthy stuff....things like candy and so forth are very fast dissolving sugars - like the body will basically just eat it up and it isn't going to help him for long and he's going to have to eat sooner than if he were to eat healthier things...fast natural sugar cubes are grapes...
