Energy produced with no side effects or side products (CO2 for example) Solar power and Wind power are producers of clean energy but technically nothing is true clean energy, because some waste product was made to make the wind turbines or manufacture the solar panels.

Energy obtained without polluting or otherwise damaging the environment. Impossible to achieve in absolute terms, but some energies are more environmental friendly than others, such as hydroelectric, solar, eolic (wind), tidal, etc.. although they all produce some sort of damage due to temperatures generated, mechanical effects, changes to the environment, or what is needed in order to produce the necessary equipment or to transport the energy where it is needed.
Probably the cleanest more efficient energy production will be obtained by Hydrogen fusion.

Skycat,
There is no really clean energy source. There are sources that are cleaner than others though. Solar energy and water. The problem with these cleaner sources of power is that they cannot produce enough power for our needs. So in order to produce enough power for our needs it is required that we turn to alternate sources, such as nuclear or fossil burning power plants. Short of returning to the horse and buggy days there is not much that can be done other than technology to clean up the exhaust from these plants.

There is not a clean way to use any energy!
Maybe you can tell that the wind or sun energy are clean. OK, they are, but to the man build the facilities to use these energies, he polutes a lot!

Energy produced that does not disturb the homeostasis of the environment before the energy producer was put there. some examples: wind power, Solar Power, Hydroelectricity.
