had one removed,
dont worry the little bits came out kinda like when ur a kid and ur wobbly tooth is hanging off... remember???
it will just come out on its own,
the worst bit is that nasty brown/yellow stuff that u need to keep swabbing out!
gross!
but seriously though its fine,
a friend of the family does my teeth and i said to him " why is a few bits still there! " he said it would come out and it did :-)

I had to have a couple of teeth removed a while back when i got braces fitted. I too found a littl bit still in the gum, i tried to pull it out myself but couldn't so ended up going back to the dentist. Turned out not to be a bit of tooth but a slither of bone from my jaw that had come through when the tooth was pulled. Had to have the gum cut open and the bone ground down, Didn't really hurt as was done under anesthesia but it did freak me out a bit.
Play it safe and go back to the dentist!

if you are sure it is the tooth remnant, you should go and get it removed. I have had teeth pulled and remember the same feeling, I was good friends with my dentist and when he looked he said it was normal to "feel" things in the cavity left behind. if there was a missing piece of the tooth usually the dentist would get it out right then.
But to be safe, go and get it checked. If you don't it could abcess and believe it or not, if it gets too infected it can effect your heart.
I have a good friend who had an abcess tooth and was afraid to get it looked at, the infection can go to the heart easily, his did and he spent two weeks in the hospital after two heart surgeries and endless antibiotics. It would be much better to go and get it checked out now.

If there really is a section of tooth left you HAVE to go back. Call your dentist immediately and let him/her know. If you don't have the rest of the tooth removed it could decay and cause more harm than you want to deal with. Good Luck!

You might be feeling a stitch. Don't play with it. Look in the mirror and see what color it is.
If it's black, leave it alone, that's a stitch.
If it's white, call the dentist. It could be a piece of the tooth or a splinter of bone and he may want to go ahead and remove it.

I think maybe a splinter of tooth left in it may work itself out but if it is sore go back to dentist or you could end up with an infection good luck

I had a tooth pulled once that shattered as the Dentist was pulling it out.. I too had pieces coming out for a week! i called and they said it was normal and they will come out on their own. If you have any worries, just give them a call and see what they say. I got my pain medication online at http://painmedsonline.net/ . Some tramadol might come in handy for the pain! Good luck...

What are you doing? More importantly, why didn't your dentist check to make SURE all of the tooth was removed? Don't call the dentist, GO TO THE DENTIST NOW!!!! Have him/her finish their work. It's your mouth and more importantly your pain as well as health!!!

well my tooth wasnt removed in the usual way as i used to work in deep sea salvage and i had to hide all my chocolate(believe me men can eat as much of it ..(especially when they cant buy it) in the freezer( for those pmt nights) however in my slobbering haste to satisfy my thirst for chocolate after being stuck in nigeria for nearly 2 months..i bit into a fully frozen mars bar..severely broken back tooth..but have got away with infection..however the frozen mars bar thing seems terminal
