I speak hypothetically (as the devil does not really exist - its just another part of the Christian delusion), it would make sense that he would be Spanish.
As God put Diablo in charge of heaven's theme park called 'Paradise' (and we have all been to Spanish theme parks and checked out the safety record) it is quite obvious that by the muck he made of it, the man was of Latin origin.
I will add here that some of my best friends are Spanish to avoid being reported :-)

I think the expression "El Diablo" comes from some kind of a Latin expression, because Spanish might have adopted it in some way. The Devil by way doesn't have a nationality. He is a fallen angel, who took on a physical appearance when he appeared in a physical form a long time ago just like the Bible also mentions him.

There seems to be one in every nation under one form of another, so he certainly is not specifically Spanish. The devil who haunted Faust seemed to be German and Robert le Diable was French.
If there is a devil, he hides in everyone of us and at the moment he seems to be in the character that called himself "man" at the week-end and who followed in various incarnations on Q and A since, with hidden spam references behind seemingly innocuous answers.

No, the devil has no nationality, because he wasnt from here. He was an angel, Lucifer, in charge of God's praise.

Maybe. Everyone calls him El Diablo, and he sometimes has that Spanish Waiter Moustache when he doesn't shave.

No. He's been around since before languages were a reality. Matter of fact, they exist on account of him.
