i was carrying my camera and i went in the bathroom to get my brush. i set the camera down on top of the bathroom shelf and somehow it slipped off and fell. i picked it up and the lens was broken. please help, if my parents find out i`m gonna be dead. it's a nikon coolpix L4 digital camera. it keeps saying LENS ERROR and it wont change. i really need help because im scared and im almost crying right now cause it just happened and my mom is sleeping and i dont know what to do.. please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you can have it fixed before Christmas. May as well fess up and get it over with. You might be surprised how well they accept the news. The instruction manual should have repair locations in it. Read and give one a call.

Make sure that your will and life insurance papers are in order...
Or maybe they have insurance or a service contract that covers it...
