TIP to insure prompt service

It's a tradition to tip people like doormen, postmen, paper boys and maids and gardeners, etc. The people you tip are typically doing physical labor that we take for granted throughout the year and come to expect, we forget that it is hard and necessary work that we don't want to do. Tipping is a thoughtful gesture to show that kindess is still very much a part of human nature and that we appreciate what others do for us. You really should tip. Even if it is just five dollars, it's a small price to pay to make someone smile, someone who helps you more then you know.

People that come to your home on a regular basis. The postman, the paperboy, the milkman (if you have it delivered), lawnservice, pool service, etc. If you live in an upscale high rise apartment you should tip the staff, especially those that you talk to on a regular basis.

You also should tip those who you see on a regular basis at their place of business, such as drycleaner, accountant, butcher (not at the grocery store), etc.

To sumarize: Anyone who does you a service on a regular basis should be tipped during the holidays. However, if you really can't tip these people, you shouldn't stress out trying to. We have $10 or less to spend on each of our friends or family members this year. Our paperboy is not getting a tip.

I don't tip people so much for doing a good job throughout the year, I tip them knowing they don't get a good wage. I will always give to someone that I know is less well off than myself and £10 to them is not much to me when I know I'd not miss it that much for I need nothing. I tip anyone that I speak to throughout the year that is in a position to warrant a tip.

If you really wait till the end of the year to tip a waitress, you certainly are a tight wad.
But, yes, I do tip lower wage scale people who provide regular. reliable service and do so with a cheerful demeanor. I do believe that even a token amount and a card are well received if that is all you can reasonably afford. Think of it as with other gifts, it is the recognition of their services that is appreciated. (And. it doesn't hurt with regard to receiving any little extra effort come the next year.)

how much and whom you tip is strictly up to the individual, but one person I used to tip but stopped,is the newspaper delivery person,If I'm lucky my paper reaches the sidewalk, usually its on the grass right next to the street, when i was a child I delivered newspapers and they had to be on the porch, not the steps, and in some cases between the the doors.I received some real good tips at the time, but I also did a good job, these people deserve nothing.

I don't tip anyone for doing the job their paid for throughout the year, they get a wage like everyone else, I prefer to give to a deserving charity.
