They are Domestic Short Hairs. There are also Domestic Medium Hairs and Domestic Long Hairs. The only difference is the length of the coat.

They're typically known as the "Domestic Shorthair" or "tabby cat". Those are also most typical from a rescue or a shelter which is a great place to adopt when you do as they definitely need forever loving homes.

I think you mean an Domestic Short Hair. It's your standard type of cat. Kind of like the 'mutt' of the cat world, if you will. It's what they call cats that really don't have any other breed.

The simple answer is Domestic Short Hair, called DSH for short. Check out your local shelter and rescue groups - there are lots of "normal" wonderful cats looking for new homes!
