Spending Christmas with the parents - 2 bottles
Spending Christmas with the prima dona heavily pregnant sister-in-law from Hell -5 bottles, minimum
Spending Christmas in the home town - 1 bottle
Christmas cemetary visiting ritual (grandma, suicide friend, and now dad) - 1 bottle, but moving up from wine to whisky)
Christmas Eve party with barking mad neighbour of parents - 1 bottle
Coping with the advertisements for a classic rock album "for dads this Christmas" that features all the tracks from my youth - 2 bottles - one of Baileys, one of Jack Daniels.
Coping with Christmas music - 1.5 bottles.
Yeah, fair enough, I'm gonna be paralytic for most of the time. Verrrry Merrry Chrisssmas to you sir!

Two cases sounds about right. Living in Sydney I also need 3 to 4 cases of beer only cos its hot and I need to keep the fluid intake up.

How much do I NEED? none, zip zero Nada.
How much have I bought for personal and party consumption?
three bottles of champagne, two of white Zinfandel, 1 30 pack of coors lite and a 1L bottle each of jack and Southern Comfort. This will go with my dancer friends and our assorted boy/girl friends and we will see where that goes from there.
Reminder all. Party Hardy but don't Drink and Drive. Get smashed and see who you wake up with.

Beer has been on sale, so we stocked up on five 30 packs. I have a collection of champagne, and my family will be forking over the drinks during their party. We're set until mid-January. Although I do need to get a bottle of port for my husband. He gets squirrely-cute on port. :)

If I was spending it with my family, then I would think 2-3 cases would make it bearable.
But since I'll be home alone, I don't think I need any.
