I got one for myself from Woolworths. A Venturer I think it was called. I bought it about 3 years ago, and it has been a great buy for £199. No problems as yet, although it does have difficulty in playing some formats of DVD. The battery is usually quite long lasting, but can need extra charge in cold weather. (to play a full DVD)
I also have a pacific DVD player which I bought for about £30 which also works really well. I just put the audio signal through my stereo, and hey presto. Stereo sounds.
Watch out for what formats of DVD it will play. They should list the formats at the front or side of the DVD player. Most will cover a comprehensive range these days, but some can be difficult. Your best bet if you have a problem with some DVD's is to take your DVD into a shop and ask if you can play it to test the format.

What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision recommends the Toshiba range for pcture quality. Don't buy a cheap one' they're rubbish. Look on the web, I'm sure you'll find a good deal somewhere.

Look at the range in Aldi - they usually have some great bargains on electronics.
