I used to think so. When I was growing up, my mother spent a lot of extra time with me instead of my sisters and brothers. She taught me to sew, cook, and keep house. I thought she "liked me best", but it turns out she wanted me to learn how to help out around the house so she could go back to work. She depended on me as I was the eldest girl. As an adult, I see that my mother has a special relationship will all her children, and I don't feel she loves one more than the other.

It's very clear in our family that my mom loves us in different ways but always equally. She's always been a great mom that way! My dad, however, always favored my brother when we were growing up. For example, my brother always got whatever he asked for but if I asked for something I had to earn it by doing extra things around the house or there were always certain stipulations under which my dad would buy me something special or extra.

Nope. She always loved my big brother most.

I mean, I graduated from high school the same year he graduated from university. His picture went on display in the living room. Mine was shoved into a cabinet. Tells ya something.

She once told me that of her four kids, only the oldest "turned out". I was then a housewife, mother of 2, not in any trouble. I felt I'd "turned out, too." Told her so, she said, "well, I guess so."

No, unfortunately my Mom doesn't love me at all. I am serious about this. My sister died when I was 9 and she never loved me again. I am the only daughter she got.

Yes, I've always been her favorite (despite being the middle child of 5). I always got what I wanted and more, even when I didn't deserve it. I was spoiled.....(Sad to admit, really)
