The funny thing about the myspace profiles is that they say their sexual orientation is "bi", yet they say "no men please, women only". Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's not "bi", that's "lesbian".

Bisexuality IS a fad with young women now, as much as it is with young men liking it so much. Younger girls are doing it for the attention they get from the guys.
As for the MySpace.com entry, the reason most so-called bisexual girls on there write "no men - women only" is most likely because they have guys in real life, but "clean" and attractive bisexual girls who aren't into playing games are extremely hard to find.
You are right, though. Technically, that'd be lesbianism.

Some do! I'm straight, so I can't answer personally, but I can talk about my best friend. My best friend is bi, and so is her girlfriend. My friend is a soft-butch type and her girlfriend is very masculine--sometimes, her girlfriend will draw on a mustache, smoke a pipe, and wear her dad's old clothes. At those times, my friend can't keep her hands off her. The girlfriend doesn't shave anything, and my friend loooves that. Says a woman who shaves is too conforming to society, and that women should be more natural which includes leaving body and facial hair alone. =D Edit: The girlfriend has small sideburns.

I think its a fad and a way for the youngins to get more guys and/or dates. the stereotype is that most guys like the "idea" of a woman that is "bi" and we all know the reasoning behind that, but yes you are not mistaken that "bi" is they like both not the same sex only. some may put that on there so they can get more women to have the "bi" experiences and some may do it for the reason i already stated.
honestly i get tired of seeing profiles like that on there...its just trashy looking and i think if they have to go through that trouble to get men or even women for that matter...then they really need to look at themselves. they are probably doing it also to make themselves feel attractive to others, boost their self-esteem, and/or be the "popular" girls...when really all it does is show that they have no respect for themselves or their morals.
if you are "bi or gay" fine...make that your orientation, but don't advertise it like its the "cool" thing to do. be yourself and never hide who you are...but don't "commercialize" it as though everyone has to know you are bi...hope this all made sense and sorry for the ranting...lol

I had a friend who turned Bi. I was shocked...i moved...but i didn't know things would change that much. I don't know why. But if that's thier sexual orientation...that's thier sexual orientation.

yah yur right but a lot of us girls go to parts and get wasted and make out with guys and we put bi because we know guys seem to like that and we get more attention i know because ive done that and boys at school think it is awesome and they don't like lesbians because they get no action for themselves! that and girls now how to do ut right!
