If you are not getting your baby circumcised for religious purposes, then it would be a form of cosmetic sugary. Cosmetic sugary, in this case, may or may not be covered by your insurance plan, so you will also want to look at it from that stand point. There are several arguments for and against circumcision, does your husband/s.o. have an opinion about which way they feel. Some will say that it isn't medically necessary and should not be performed. Others will say that while it is not medically necessary it does have its benefits. There are some forms of infections that are more likely in uncircumcised males, especially when the foreskin area is not kept properly clean. And while this may not be a concern for you now it may be for your child in the future, epically in their elderly years, and yes there are cases of seniors having to be circumcised because of repeated infections/improper care. As far as it being torture, yes and no, while it isn't necessary, they do give pain medications and take precautions (if it is performed in a hospital setting) the same as the would for any other sugary. I do applaud you for looking into the facts before jumping into something and I encourage you to talk to your doctor, mother, s.o., and anybody else you feel comfortable discussing this with to get different opinions. Best of luck to you, and congrats on the baby.

One of the reasons that they do the circumsizing is for medical reasons. Man who have gone through the procedure say it is healther for the women (when older) because germs collect in the excess skin and women don't get infections as easliy. I have two boys and one has it done and the other doesn't and that was a whole thing in itself to way he didn't have it done, but I think I will get it done, eventually because he is Special and wished he had it done when he was a baby. The trauma of it sounds pretty crude, but they forget because the are babies. Taking care of it is pretty easy too. Just make sure to clean it well and put lots of vaseline on it when you go to put the diaper on. Really nothing to get.
Good Luck! Congrats on whatever you may have.

well congrats on the baby, and as far as the question is concerned, i have a daughter but both my brothers were circumsized, not for religious reasons, and they never complained about it, like the torture issue, yes it wil lhurt but its nothing they are going to remember long term. there are health benefits for the circumcision, like removing teh excess skin improves hygene. so look it gup, and make an educated decision. good luck tomorrow. you will know what to do when the time is right. it will be instinct. let us know how it turns out.

Cutting your tongue out improves hygiene too, but why do it? Nobody normal is born with spare parts, it's there for a reason. Putting a helpless infant through that kind of pain because they are too little to remember it is barbaric and cruel. If your child wants to have a mutilated penis then it should be his decision when he's older. Hygiene isn't an issue at all if you teach him how to wash himself.
Congratulations and good luck to you and your family.
