That was your mistake..as mine..I was presribed zoloft..Well it might have been good for me but I reacted maybe phycological to the side effects and stories I read.Well medicines are made for the general public..which thats funny because we are all indiviuals.. If you dont feel good about taking it dont...you will indeed suffer side effects.. I was put on two different drugs years ago and if I had read the side effects then i wouldn't have taken them as it turns out I think they were good for me although looking back I did suffer from side effects the first year about an hour a day or more..I never said anything to the doctor and over a period of time they helped me.. best thing to do now is go back and ask your doctor for something else and next time dont read the side effects..they have to list them or they can be sued if you are one of the few people that cannot take the drug but that happens rarely and I think its more the fact that someone read the side effects..Then if you have something happen you can be prepared but sometimes if you dont know what they are then they cant bother you ..Also another tip..take a half of one for a couple of days and if there are any side effects just tell your doctor surely they wont be as bad as if they were the full dose...good luck

Hello,

Ive recently completed a course on Medication and i work with people in the Mental Health industry everyday so all i can do is tell you what i know about this Medication.

Firstly, every medication comes with side effects. Alot of the time we already has the symptons they are discribing. So it doesnt help us in any way. Alot of medications have the SAME side effects too.

Secondly, if your someone whose really paranoid that your going to suffer from any of the side effects discribed, then physclogically your brain will tell you that you ARE. So you may start for example feeling sick as a side effect and start considering this as one of the side effects when really you are only feeling sick through worrying about it.

thirdly, Amisulpride is also known as Solian. It is an antipsychotic and for some people it works wonders. For you it may do you good. Your GP may see how you go on this medication, and if he/she feels its not the right medication for you then he may try you on something else. Alot of the clients I look after are on this and they are all fine.

Common Side effects are:-
Sleeplessness
Anxiety
agitation
tierdness
nausea
diarrhoea
weight gain.

If you find you your experiencing any of the above inform your doctor and he/ she can prescribe you with something to help.

Severe side effects BUT VERY RARE are:-
low blood pressure
slow heart rate
allergy reactions
high fever

If you experience any of these you MUST immediatly tell your doctor ok.

Hope ive been of some help. As i said earlier my clients have no problems taking Amisulpride ok

Actually every medication you may or may not be put on has a long list of side effects. If you are too scared to take it due to the side effects, then you may get nowhere. You should give the medication a try and see what happens. If you don't like it then quit it. But if you are going to miss out on a medication because of the side effects, you will miss out on all medications.

Pretty much all drugs are safe. The FDA would not let it on the market if it wasnt. The thing about side effects is that if even only one person gets it they have to put it on the label. If I were you I would monitor your health and if you think you are having a side effect talk to your doctor. Otherwise nex time when you get medication dont read side effects or else you will think you have it.

You did what I like to call a no no. All drugs have a lot side of effects belive it or not. You don't have to worry Doctors do know what they are doing and they would not give it to you if it is not safe. Take it for a little while see how you feel. If you don't like what it does then talk to your doc.

Good luck. Happy holidays

Let's put it this way.......don't believe everything you read.

Reason being on prescription warnings.........
Whenever a new medication is being considered for market, the pharmaceutical companies have to do blind study tests. During the time the people that are those study participants, they have to report every medical issue they have during a specified length of time.
So if that patient gets a cold, they have to report runny nose as a symptom during that time they are on the study.
It cover their butts, the pharmacuetical companies list everything any of their study participants list as problems they had while on that medication. It may be something totally unrelated to that specific drug but they still have to list it on their inserts.

So if a patient has a heart attack, totally unrelated to the med they are on, they still have to list that as a side effect.

your GP wouldnt have prescribed them if they werent safe. but chat to them anyway, they should be able to help you work through any fears you have.

but most drugs have a long list of possible side-effects anyway. read the labels on paracetamol, aspirin etc - things we take fairly often - they all have possible side effects.

your GP might also be able to give you something to combat any side effects. when i started taking an anti-depressant a few months ago, my GP also gave anti-nausea medication, which controlled all side-effects.

chat to your GP. everything will be grand! :)
