Has anyone attempted making the filling at home? If so, how did you make it? It appears to be a cream cheese or buttercream icing with chunks of peppermint candy.

Not so sure there is a Homemade version of Swiss Colony's peppermint torte, but how about this one


Recipe Ingredients:

Chocolate ice-cream roll
2 1/2 c Whipping (heavy) cream,
Whipped, or1 cn (12 ounces)
frozen Whipped topping, thawed
1/2 c Crushed hard peppermint candy (about 18 candies)

Recipe Instructions:

Prepare Chocolate Ice-Cream Roll as directed - except do not fill with ice cream.
Reserve 2 cups whipped cream.
Fold peppermint candies into remaining whipped cream.
Unroll cake and remove towel.
Spread cake with peppermint topping.
Cut cake lengthwise evenly into 6 strips.
Roll up one of the strips and place it cut side up on 10-inch serving plate.
Coil remaining strips tightly around center roll.
Smooth top with spatula if necessary.
Frost top and side of torte with reserved whipped cream.
Drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours.

12 SERVINGS; 230 CALORIES PER SERVING.
