Well, I am a nanny to a one year old girl from birth. Let me tell you, 5$ an hr does not cover what I do. I would say 8-9$ and hour would be sufficient. I believe when the child is older the price can go down. say 7-8$ an hour once the child is on reg foods and the major choking hazzards and things are past. That can be stressful to a nanny having such a young one to care for....good luck and hope this helped...

I used two day cares. The first had a child teacher ratio of 4:1 and was $1200 a month. The second had a child teacher ratio of 3:1 and was $1840 a month. I'm in Northern CA, prices will be different everywhere.

Also, in home daycares are usually more affordable.

My daughter is now 6, but when she was 10 weeks to 20 months she went to a child care center from 7:45 in the morning until 5:30 and it was $700.00 a week.

I haven't had a child in childcare for over six years. But, judging by current rates, I would say (per week) $300/live-out or $250/live-in. I feel that if you can afford it that having a nanny is the most ideal with an infant.

gosh its been so long but i know it felt like an arm and leg sometimes...lol. it can run about $300-400/wk for daycare(depending on the area) and sometimes about the same or less for a nanny (depends on if they are a friend or family member, they are usually cheaper..lol )

i worked in a daycare as well, was paid $7.85/hr
