When I email a .ppt presentation with a sound track, the sound does not play on receipt. Sounds from clip files (clapping, fireworks etc) do play in the presentation when emailed, but .wav files inserted from recordings saved on my hard drive do not. Is there a way to embed them?

You have ot include the sound file seperately and maybe reattach it upon receipt.

It sounds like the person using your file may have a different version of PowerPoint than you, or possibly be using it on Internet Explorer - I would suggest having them download the latest PowerPoint Player (www.microsoft.com) to see if the audio files then work for them. Good luck.
