if you are wanting to burn fat it is best to perform a cardio workout of high intensity interval training in the morning or whenever you wake up this is because when you are asleep your body's main source of fuel is fat and when you wake up your body remains in this fat using state for an hour or so or until you have something to eat. Doing intervals of say 1 minute, produces large amounts of lactic acid in the muscles which cause the body to produce in turn, more growth hormone which leads to greater fat burning as well as other benefits.
Interval training also prevents muscle wastage that is common with long distance running or other forms of cardio over 45mins in duration. You can get great benefit from a Hiit workout in as little time as 20 mins and hold on to your muscle which keeps your basal metabolic rate higher.(burning more calories throughout the day).
If you are wanting to have a resistance workout, it is better later in the day as your core body temperature is higher so there is less chance of injury. If you are doing them together, do your weights first followed by your cardio.

it's really a preference thing, you'll hear people say you have to work out in the morning to burn the old stored fat, if you excercise after you eat you'll only burn what you ate, I don't find these things to be true. As long as you pick a time that YOU can be consistent with it should work because when it's all said and done it doesn't matter what time you work out, consistency is the key!! I workout in the afternoon cuz in the morning I tend to half booty being that I'm still tired. In the afternoon I throw on some b.e.t. and workout while watching music videos and it's over before I know it!!! lol. Good luck hope this helps.

I prefer to work out in the morning before showering, so I can shower before getting on with the rest of the day, but since I work so early (6 am) I've been working out later in the evening and it's tough sometimes after a whole day of work.

From postiive results, I think the morning is the best time to work out. Because, you burn off the fat/calories that have already been stored in your body....instead of just working off the calories you ate through out the day. Also, i find that waking up a little early each morning to work out has gave me more incentive in my day and keeps me energized. If I dont work out in the morning and leave it for later in the day, i might tired and lazy and skip out on my exercise! Morning is best phyically and mentally.

I prefer to do it first thing in the morning...that way I've gotten it out of the way, and I start my day by revving up my metabolism...

If you can only exercise during the middle of the day or in the evening, that's certainly better than not doing it at all...however if your schedule is flexible, morning is the way to go...

I can not stress this enough, morning morning morning. It is the good start to making your day good and the odds are you will stick to it rather than doing it after a hard day at work.

Afternoon, when your body has already warmed up.
Studies have showing that while working out in the morning gets your metabolism up, you have a higher chance of hurting yourself in the mornings.

I would work out in the evening, especially if you do school or work, because then your body has so much energy that needs to be burnt off. I would not do it in the morning because then you are lazy and feel like sleeping!
