I like Siameses and have two. It's good for them to have cat campanionship as well as human. It's a particularly clever breed, so getting another Siamese would keep your cat stimulated. Sorry for your loss.

It really depends on your cat's temperament. I myself have a Siamese cat and he gets along wonderfully with my tabby. We got them from the shelter on the same day. I swear they are partners in crime. You really want to make sure, though, that your kitty can handle another coming in to share the spotlight.

From what I hear, Ragdoll cats are a very accepting and loving cat both to humans and to other cats. The downside to those would be they are a little high maintence. The coat of a Ragdoll gets tangled really easily.
