All throughout history people have committed some of the most horrific things in recorded human history in the name of one religion or another. The best example today is Moslems shouting, “God is Great” after events like suicide bombings, beheadings, etc, etc. Why can’t people realize that things like this are evil and it makes God sad to see his children killing one another over petty things? It shouldn’t matter what race, religion, or creed you are, just love one another and defeat the real enemy, Hate!

There will always be people who go to extremes. Think of someone who can't accept a breakup and stalks his ex-girlfriend, or someone who lives to have "buns of steel" exercising 6 or more hours a day, or an anorexic who just always want to be 10 lbs thinner, or the football fan who gets in fights with rival fans ...
When this personality type gets involved in religion, if they don't have someone who is willing to be a check on their behaviour, they will act out thier extremism in the name God (rather than love, or sports, or fashion, or patriotism, or whatever). Unfortunately, because faith is such a touchstone issue for so many people, stories of religious extremism get told far more often than stories of other kinds of extremism.
What's worse, God gets blamed for such behaviour rather the person doing it.

Yes crusaders screamed "god wills it" terrorist scream "allah akbar" when they fly planes in to buildings. These people are taught that this is justice and that it is Gods will. In there mind one can not go against the will of god. It what happens when religion is the only driving force in persons life. In there mind there doing the right thing and we are the enemy. We are dehumanized to satan's level. Our lifes dont matter since our sinful lifes are against god. Hitler dehumanized the jews. Christians dehumanize gays. Muslims dehumanize non-believers. Why? They dont think from a humanist point of view. They dont see all of us as part of one family. They only see there family that is there race or religion and only they posses the truth.

bad people will use any excuse they can to justify their actions... in the case of The islamies...they are commanded by their book to do the things they do... they are to kill all who do not accept their deceptions...

because they can't handle reality, so they throw themselves into a religion and feel they are doing god's work, which makes them feel worthy. it's really sad.
